Dr. Dan Bergerud DVM

Meet the friendly staff at Cass Veterinary Services!

Dan Bergerud
DVM
Dr. Dan joined Cass Veterinary Services in January 1997. His rural Iowa upbringing in Burt, Iowa and later in Iowa City, had a big influence on his chosen field. After high school, Dr. Dan completed his veterinary studies at Iowa State University. His original interest in veterinary medicine came about while working with dairy cows on the family farm. There are currently only a few dairy cows in the area and his favorite is a Jersey cow named Peaches.

To supplement his income, Dr. Dan enjoys working with dogs and cats, with a special interest in surgery of any type.

Another large part of Dr. Dan’s interest is the beef industry. He treats many small and large herds within the practice and also maintains a small herd of his own on his hobby farm.

Dr. Dan and his wife Sandy share their rural Virginia home with Macy, a 6-year-old Lab PAWS rescue and Bonnie a 12-year-old cat.
